National Unicorn Day | April 9th

April 9th is National Unicorn Day! I've created some great resources that you can use with your students to help celebrate the day!

ELA Activities
You can begin the day by reading "Unicorn Day" by Diana Murray with your students. Afterwards, the students can work on the activity sheets included in the Unicorn Day resource.
Afterwards, you and your students can work on the Unicorn Hats/Crowns that can be worn throughout the day.
Afterwards, you can read "How to Catch a Unicorn". After listening to the story, the students can work with a partner to share how they will catch a unicorn. Once they have finished sharing, they can work on the "How to Catch a Unicorn" activity sheet and book.

Adopt a Pet Unicorn
This is an idea that was given to me by a colleague. We purchased Unicorn Squishy toys from Amazon, and small plastic pet cups, for our students to adopt a pet unicorn.
There is an activity sheet in the Unicorn Day resource that the students can use to name and describe their new pet. Students can place their new pet in the plastic containers as their new home. This is also good for classroom management.

Unicorn Snack
At the end of the day, the students can enjoy a delicious Unicorn Snack. You will need: popcorn, Luck Charms (unicorn and rainbow marshmallows),
chocolate chips, FUnMallows (mini marshmallows). Mix all of the ingredients into a bowl. Place it into a colorful rainbow cup to serve!
